Exploring Colorado’s Fly Fishing Guide Trip Rates

Colorado, with its stunning landscapes and abundant rivers, is a dream destination for fly fishing enthusiasts. If you are planning a fishing trip in Colorado, it is essential to have a valid fishing license. Obtaining a Colorado fishing license is easy, and you can purchase one online from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Full Day Guided Fly Fishing Trips

For an immersive experience, consider booking a full day guided fly fishing trip. This all-inclusive package offers rental equipment if needed, including a rod, reel, and waders. You will also be provided with terminal tackle, flies, beverages, lunch, and dessert. Typically, these trips run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. While a gratuity for the guide is not included in the package price, it is customary to offer a tip of around 20%. Private water access fees may apply and are not included in the price.

Half Day Colorado Fly Fishing Trips

If you have limited time or prefer shorter excursions, a half day fly fishing trip might be the perfect choice. These trips last four hours and can be scheduled for the morning, afternoon, or evening. The price includes beverages, terminal tackle, all equipment, and a guide’s gratuity (approximately 20%). Private water access fees may apply.

Corporate or Group Guided Fly Fishing Trips

For corporate events or group outings, Colorado offers full day guide trip packages. These packages include rental equipment, terminal tackle, beverages, lunch, and flies. Corporate clients often choose to fish in private waters, which may incur additional rod fees. It is important to note that these corporate trips require full payment in advance.

Fly Fishing Trip Cancellation Policy

It is essential to review the cancellation policy before booking your fly fishing trip. Private water rod fees are nonrefundable and billed at the time of booking. Gift certificates must be paid in full upon purchase and are valid for one year. However, they are not redeemable for cash. To reserve a trip, a 50% deposit of the guide fee is required, which is nonrefundable. However, it can be applied to a different trip within one year. Cancellations made seven days prior to the trip forfeit the deposit, while cancellations or no-shows on the day of the trip will be billed in full.

Colorado offers unparalleled opportunities for fly fishing enthusiasts. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a novice, a guided trip in the beautiful rivers of Colorado is an adventure worth experiencing. So grab your fishing gear, get your Colorado fishing license, and embark on a memorable fly fishing journey amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Centennial State.
